Stadio dei Marmi is an athletics track in the Foro Italico next to the Olympic Stadium in Rome. It is one of the most picturesque sports arenas I have seen and has special prominence in the world of fascist architecture. Designed in the 1920s as a facility for physical education it was inaugurated in 1932 with 60 Carrara marble statues representing male athletes.
