Rome's Fascist Architecture : Images Buildings

In all the many trips I have made to Rome I never visited the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, an absolutely stunning building that stands in EUR district. Built in 1942 as part of Mussolini's Esposizione Universale Romana, a worlds fair that was ill timed with the war. It is for me a brilliant piece of architecture that is sadly lost in this largely deserted suburb. Over looked by tourists (I only encountered one Japanese man who I presumed was an architect) it seems to be out of favour with tour groups, which is a pity because it enriches anyone interested in great architecture no matter what era. Rome of course has ample ancient distractions keeping you in the heart of the Eternal city preventing you from jumping on the metro and seeing what lies outside of its walls.

Pity there was a fence around it so I couldn't get any close ups, but I will go back when Fendi make it their HQ in 2015.
