I met director George Lucas on the set of Revenge of the Sith in Sydney in 2004.

Here he talks about the importance of Visual Literacy in education - in this age of digital devices it is becoming just as important as numerical literacy and word literacy.



Jason Silva on Cinema : Painting in Time



Cinema Film is projected at 24 frames per second. A higher frame rate the slower and smoother the image. Early cinema had 15 fps so was not a realistic depiction of movement.




The Kuleshov Effect is an important reaction shot used in cinema but forst discovered by early 20th Century Russian film makers.

Studies have shown that more people are watching information/entertatinment on video via smart mobile devices in 2015 46% of all video plays were on mobile devices particularly with the 1st mobile generation of Millennials



This shows a shift in viewing behaviour from the TV screen to the mobile screen.
